The 19th YOSAKOI Soran Wakuwaku Festival
|Many famous Yosakoi Soran dance teams can be seen in the 19th YOSAKOI Soran Wakuwaku Festival. A stage and parade space will be prepared on Shimamatsu Station Street, where around 1,000 dancers from 30 teams drum up excitement with their lively performances. The program consists of Part 1, Part 2, and the Finale. Many of those teams are finalists from the bigger YOSAKOI Soran Festival in Sapporo. It is a great chance for the whole family to enjoy their colorful dances for free!|
|In 1886, many people relocated from Iwakuni, Waki area in Yamaguchi Prefecture to Eniwa and settled here. It was the very beginning of Eniwa city. Suzuran Odori reflects this history.
The dance reflects the Yosakoi Naruko Odori in Kochi Prefecture, while the music is based on Eniwa Ondo. The bells attached to the Naruko that the dancers hold in their hands are the images of a lily of the valley, the official flower of Eniwa city.
